Biography
Dr. Shamim Ahmad is a is well known distinguished personality in the field of Ophthalmic Microbiology since January,10,1983. He is currently serving as senior-most distinguished Professor of Microbiology and Officer-In-Charge Microbiology Section and Gandhi Eye Hospital campus, Institute of Ophthalmology, J.N. Medical College, Faculty of Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. He also contributed his services as a Teacher / Officer-In-Charge (Administration), Superintendent-Examinations & Library, Faculty of Medicine, Manager, Blind School, and many other academic & administrative positions at AMU, Aligarh. Besides, he was deputed to serve as Faculty for more than 5 years abroad at reputed Medical Colleges, Faculties of Medicine in Libya and as well as Saudi Arabia. After earning his Ph.D. degree in 1982, he obtained his Post Doc. training in various Departments of clinical and applied Microbiology at least at 7 Universities of world repute in 6 countries, being accordingly recipient of at least 6 International Fellowships including "DAAD (W. Germany) , "JSPS"(Japan)"ROYAL SOC. London"(UK),"DAAD"(Germany), "TUBA" (Turkey) and "SAIA" (Slovak Republic). Besides, regular Undergraduate (MBBS) and Post Graduate (MS & DO) medical students and some Professional Courses (DOA) teaching, he has been actively engaged in the teaching & practical Classes of some of M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in India and abroad. Professor Ahmad's research work mainly involved Multi-resistant Eye Pathogens including Super Bugs MRSAs and their alternative treatment with newer antibacterials and innovative natural products especially the "Honey". Dr. Ahmad has a credit of publishing many research papers, books, and Book -Chapters and Supervised /Co-supervised at least 52 of these students besides presenting many papers at National and International conferences having being visited about 33 countries for academic purposes. Currently, Prof. Ahmad is honored to be an Organizing Committee Member(OCM) of various Internal Conferences beside being a member of the Editorial team including Chief Editor of at At least 78 International Journals of world repute.

Biography
Dr Meenakshi Wadhwani is working as an assistant professor of ophthalmology in Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalya, Geeta Colony, New Delhi since 2018. She completed M.B.B.S. and M.S ophthalmology from the prestigious Lady Hardinge Medical college, New Delhi. She persued her Pool officership (2013) and Ph.D. (2020) from Dr Rajendra Prasad Centre for ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi. Her Ph.D. topic was related to causes and prevalence of childhood visual impairment along with development of an age appropriate visual function questionnaire. She has special interest in pediatric ophthalmology. Her researches include pediatric ophthalmology (medical and surgical), pediatric retinal disorders like retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). She has also done research related to medical management of diabetic retinopathy, using various diagnostic techniques and lasers. She has won prestigious pioneer and rising talent award by ANBAI (North) in 2019. Along with that her PhD story was selected amongst the first 50 stories for AWSAR 2021 award from Department of science and technology (DST) India. She has presented many scientific papers at different state, national and international conferences. She has around 50 research publications in various pubmed indexed and around 25 research publications in different peer reviewed journals. She is a member of different ophthalmological societies and review editor to some ophthalmology journals. She was involved as a trainer and resource person in different research projects (ICMR sponsored Multicentric Collaborative Study on the impact of Environmental Changes and Ultra Violet Radiation exposure on ocular health in India, MOHFW sponsored Epidemiological study of Avoidable Blindness and National Trachoma Prevalence Survey) in community ophthalmology in RPC, AIIMS during her tenure of Ph.D. scholarship.
